2nd All Africa Environmental Health Congress
 
24th - 27th May 2010
 
 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH-KEY TO A BETTER LIFE FOR ALL 
 
 

The African continent has increasingly been affected by

various environmental health challenges.A great proportion

of the health problems in this region are linked to

environmental health. One of the major challenges to

environmental health has been the very low levels of

environmental health awareness and the  lack of

sustainable strategies for environmental health controls.

 
It is against this background that the Africa Group of the


International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) in


collaboration with the Malawi Environmental  Health

Association, Government of Malawi and the University of


Malawi welcomes the registration of delegates for

attendance at  the 2nd IFEH Africa Group All Africa

Enviromental Health Congress to be held at the

Crossroads Hotel,Lilongwe, from 24th–27th May 2010.

 
Objectives of the Congress
 
- Raise the profile of environmental health in Africa
- Sharing best practices of environmental health services
 delivery in Africa
- Enhance inter-country collaboration in environmental
health practice
- Addressing the training needs of environmental health
- Promote the environmental health needs of children in Africa
- Promote environmental health research
 
Targeted participants

The conference will target various groups of specialists,
managers, students,practitioners,entrepreneurs, and
leaders involveddirectly or indirectly withenvironmental
health science,practice, and research. Environmental
health agencies are therefore encouraged to send
participants to the conference.

Health

The Africa Academy for Environmental

Health will be launching the African

Curriculum for environmental health

degree programmes and the

associated quality Assurance

System. This will be of particular

interest to academic institutions

in the search for conformity in

environmental health qualifications

across the continent.

 

Meeting of the Africa Group of

the IFEH

Members of the IFEH Africa Group

are invited for a Regional meeting.

Field Visits

Visits at the congress will explore

examples of the water and sanitation

programmes presented at the

Congress and important cultural

issues addressed in environmental

health work.

Trips will also include a glimpse

of the famous LakeMalawi!

Poster presentations

A wide range of poster presentations

will be available throughout the
