Academic Members by their Qualifications

The University Students are taught by qualified academic members, most of whom have initially been trained locally up to the undergraduate level, and then pursued graduate training at institutions in other countries in Africa, Europe, North America, and even Asia and Australia. There are over 256 academic staff members at the University.  Of these, 42 have doctorate degrees, 150 have master’s degrees, and 64 have bachelor’s degrees. It takes quite a bit of academic productivity to become a Professor within the Univesriy system. Perhaps not surprisingly, there are only 2 Professors at the University, and there are 5 Associate Professors. There are 38 senior lecturers, 104 lecturers and 48 assistant lecturers.

Student Body

The University caters to students of both genders who come from all three regions of the country—Northern, Central, and Southern. International students are also welcome to enrol.  There are currently 4777 students enrolled at the MUBAS, of which 3166 are male and 1611 are female.
