Launch of the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)

Announcement   ICE   January 26, 2024

We are pleased to inform members of the general public about the launch of the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) on Wednesday, 31st January, 2024 at the University Main Campus in Blantyre. The Institute has been established as part of the operationalisation of the MUBAS Act (2019) as well as the MUBAS Strategic Plan (2022–2030). The mandate of the Institute focuses on the provision of continuing education programmes particularly those at the Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma levels. The Institute will further be conducting cutting-edge research in continuing education and other related areas.

In line with this great milestone, all long-term Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes previously offered by the Continuing Education Centre (CEC) and Management Development Centre (MDC) have been transferred to the Institute effective January 2024. The Institute will be delivering its programmes using flexible and innovative modes such as day-release, weekend and open, distance and e-learning (ODeL) to give everyone a chance for career and professional development.

As part of the activities marking the event, the University will run a public awareness campaign for the Institute between 29th and 30th January, 2024 which will culminate into the actual launch on 31st January, 2024. For further information, please contact us on +265 999976 503 or email ice@mubas.ac.mw.
